Solo Vacations Are The Anti-Social Treat Your Spirit Needs
The best thing I discovered this summer is the solo vacation. Some may argue that spending time and money on a vacation by yourself is a waste of money, but I say it's the perfect opportunity to actually have a trip where you do EXACTLY what you want. For me that was spending 72 hours drinking wine spritzers and watching a spectacular Cheaters marathon at The Ace Hotel. Here are a few tips I have for a vacay for 1.
FOMO NO'MO: Solo trips are for chilling TF out. Do exactly what you want! Even if that means staying in, reading a book, whatever! Pick a place where you can enjoy yourself without worrying too much about navigating through an unfamiliar place, planning activities, etc.
Not Here to Make Friends: If you happen to meet cool new people, great. But this trip is all about "ME TIME", so don't feel pressure to socialize if you're not feeling it. Solo trips should be about finishing that book you've been meaning to, not fake laughing at some dude's bad Trump impression.
Take So Many Pics So Everyone Knows How Fun and Independent You Are: If you're entire vacation isn't posted on your Instagram story, did it even happen? Self timers are your friend here.
Know Your Limits: A quick weekend getaway to yourself? Great! A week? I turn into a feral child who overdrafts her account from too much room service.
Stay chill Thrillers!
