Cool or Weird: Fanny Pack
by Sadie
Let's talk about a first world problem I "struggle" with to briefly forget that Trump is our president. I've had complicated purse problems my whole life. This all changed last fall in Joshua Tree. I was at Pappy and Harriet's unabashedly staring at all the LA manic pixie dream girls and their frustratingly effortless boho-chic outfits that I would never even attempt to pull off when I saw it. A gorgeously crafted leather fanny pack. The cool girl wearing it was totally pulling it off in her denim jumpsuit and messy updo and in that moment I felt that I could really make this work for me. Needless to say I had a couple G&Ts down the hatch at that point which explains my liquid courage.
Since then I've put a good amount of effort into finding a fanny pack to wear on a trial bases, no luck. I can't even find good inspiration pictures on the internet...like not even on Pinterest. This either means I am way advanced on the cusp of this trend...or it means I let the LA cool girl siren song punk me into a weird idea. The one option I have found that I like is The Waverley from Lo and Sons, but it is definitely over my budget. The cool thing about The Waverley is that it has an adjustable strap that makes it possible to wear it as a shoulder bag, fanny pack, or cross bag. So what I'm saying is I could convince myself to take the plunge and I toy with the idea pretty regularly. Also completely coincidentally it is on sale this week AND my birthday is tomorrow...see where I'm goin?
