3 Cheap LA Sundays For When You Get Your First Student Loan Bill and Have an Existential Crisis

3 Cheap LA Sundays For When You Get Your First Student Loan Bill and Have an Existential Crisis

I think the title explains it all. In my pre-student loan utopia Sundays were often reserved for drinking iced coffee in bed and online shopping OR pricey brunches. But adulthood has hit, so I set out to find a few ways to spend Sundays without spending EVERYTHING.

1. Channel your inner Joanne the Scammer and sign up for free exercise classes! LA is ALL about #fitlife, and there is nothing better than walking around with a post workout smug glow. Most spin, barre, etc. classes let you sign up for a free, or discounted first timer class (or check out ClassPass or Groupon for more long term cheap options). Spin and scam Thrillers.

2. Join the library, pick up some rose from Trader Joe's and head to the beach. I *just* joined the library and was shocked at....the amount of good books? It sounds SO dumb, but it's true. There is nothing better (and more middle age) than reading a trashy novel, sneaking sips of  a spritzer and laying on the beach. Our current favorite book here

3. Creep yourself out at the an abandoned zoo. Pack a cute ass picnic, head to Griffith Park and hike around this creepy old abandoned zoo. I was shocked at how....unrestricted this was. You could literally climb up into the cages! You can keep hiking past the zoo if you want a REAL TREK, or come back down to the grassy area for a picnic.

I'm still new-ish to LA, so any other recommendations are welcome. What are your favorite Sundays?
